Scholarship Requirements

A BEACON OF HOPE

We aim to assist the parents and the government of Botswana in expanding its vision towards youth empowerment and development & also afford youth who discontinued tertiary education a second chance to get a qualification.

Who is elegible?

You can apply for the Ghodrati Foundation Scholarship if you are:

Ambitious & Driven.

Ambitious and driven, with a passion for vocational studies, engineering and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)

Good Credits in English, Mathematics and Sciences.

A BGCSE completer with good credits in English, Mathematics and Sciences who have not been able to access tertiary education since August 2014 for various reasons and would like to attain a qualification in engineering or business.

A BGCSE Completer & High Flyer (30 points and above).

A BGCSE completer and high flyer (30 points and above) who has been dropped from tertiary education due to circumstances beyond their control, and want a second chance.

A Mature Entry Student or Technician (21 to 40 years).

A mature entry student or technician (21 to 40 years) who wants to advance your engineering career to a higher qualification (levels 5 to 7) with a view to improve your skills and explore progression prospects.

A Self-Employed & Mature Person (21 to 40 years).

A self-employed and mature person (21 to 40 years) who wishes to advance your qualification to the next level ON PART TIME BASIS (evening classes) from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm – three times per week.

A Motivated Corporate Organisation, Private or Public.

A motivated corporate organisation, private or public, looking to take advantage of a special discounted package in order to improve employees’ skills and qualifications ON PART TIME BASIS (evening classes) from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm – three times per week.

A Physically Challenged Person, an Orphan or Vulnerable Child.

A physically challenged person or an orphan or vulnerable child (OVC) student with good credit in English, Sciences and other subjects who wishes to pursue a business qualification up to level 5.

  • Certificate to Advanced Diploma – (level 5) in Construction Industry
  • Certificate to Advanced Diploma – (level 5) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  • Certificate to Advanced Diploma – (level 5) in Telecommunication Systems
  • Certificate to Advanced Diploma – (level 5) in Accommodation Services (AOS)
  • Certificate to Advanced Diploma – (level 5) in Travel Tourism & Hospitality (TTH)
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical & Electronics
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Telecommunications Engineering

Selection And Screening

A special committee assesses and screens all applications. After selection is conducted, successful candidates will be informed, and then go on to participate in orientation at New Era College.

Download scholarship application form HERE and submit before June 2020.

Application Times

Apply directly to New Era College on weekdays between 8 am and 4 pm, except for public holidays.

Certificates & Transcripts

Provide all relevant academic certificates and transcripts.

We Care About Your Health

Provide a family doctor’s endorsement if you suffer from any medical conditions.

Identity Documents

Provide a Certified copy of your OMANG or national identity document.
